Born and lived at Alfreton, Derbyshire. Son of Samuel and Rebecca Bacon, of The "Delves," Swanwick, Alfreton, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France 1st March 1915 and died of wounds 26th March 1917, aged 24.

Buried/Commemorated : Bethune Town Cemetery, France. Plot 6. Row C. Grave 34.
