Son of Joseph Henry and Annie Baker, of Sandiacre, Nottingham. He was a factory manager prior to enlisting. He went to France 20th April 1915. Was commissioned Second Lieutenant 13th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 23rd August 1915 and joined the 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment at Halloy, France. He was wounded 24th April 1917 at Bayonet Trench, near Arras and died of wounds, 12th May 1917, aged 28.
