Son of Charles and Mary Baker, of 42 Old Uttoxeter Road, Derby. Husband of Ethel Mary Baker, of 26, Park Street, Derby. He was a printer prior to enlisting, 2nd November 1914 at Derby. He went to France 1st March 1915 and suffered gunshot wounds to right hand, 13th April 1915 and was transferred to England on Hospital Ship St. Patrick 17th April 1915. He returned to France 13th March 1916 and was taken prisoner and died of gunshot wounds, 4th July 1917, aged 27, whilst a prisoner of war.
