Born on the 7th August 1891 on Outram Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. Son of William and Jane Ellen Baugh; husband of Beatrice Baugh. He was a miner. Enlisted at Mansfield. Died 1st July 1916 on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, France.

His brother Private Squire James Baugh, 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment also fell in the Great War on the same day.

Buried/Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
