Battalion : 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Radford, Nottingham and 449, Alfreton Road, Nottingham. Son of Charles Henry and Hanna Maria Beanland, of 136, Dame Agnes Street, Nottingham. He was a lace warehouse clerk prior to enlisting. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant 24th February 1917 and joined the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment at Beuvry, France. He was killed in action by shellfire, 30th April 1917, whilst in teh line near Crassier, near Loos, France.
