Battalion : 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Cropwell Bishop, Nottinghamshire. Son of Thomas and Ellen Brailsford, of Malt Street, Gotham, Nottinghamshire. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting 9th August 1906 at Nottingham. He served in India from 5th January 1909 to 28th November 1913. He was appointed Lance Corporal, 27th January 1910, he went to France 8th September 1914 and was killed in action, 20th September 1914, aged 26, during the German attack on the British lines near Troyon, France.
