Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of John G. Buswell, of 5 Milner Road, Sherwood, Nottingham. He was a Butcher prior to enlisting 9th November 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France 28th June 1915 and was appointed Lance Corporal 1st February 1916. He was killed in action, 10th March 1916, whilst serving in the line near Acq, France.

His brother Sergeant John Burgess Buswell, 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment also fell in the Great War.
