Born at Loughborough, Leicestershire and lived at Sandiacre, Derbyshire. Brother of John Keeling, of 9, Rutland Grove, Sandiacre. He was a brass finisher prior to enlisting 29th April 1904 at Nottingham. He served in India from 15th February 1907 to 31st March 1911. He was appointed Lance Corporal 19th February 1910. He went to France 8th September 1914 and was killed in action, 20th September 1914. in the German attack on the British positions at Troyon, France.
