Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of Thomas and Alice Holland, (formerly Kent) of 19, Cambridge Street, Radford, Nottinghamshire. Husband of Elizabeth R. Kent. He was a leather dresser prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France 18th August 1915 and was killed in action, 28th September 1917, whilst in the line near Wieltje, Belgium.

Buried/Commemorated : Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium. Panel 99 to 102 and 162 to 162A.



His brother Private Simeon Kent, 1/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, also fell in the Great War.
