Son of Arthur Turnour Murray and Nora Alice Murray, of Red Towers, Melton, Suffolk. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 18th September 1909. He was promoted Lieutenant 16th August 1911. He was killed in action, 20th September 1914, aged 24, near Soissons during the first Battle of the Aisne.
