Born and lived at Nottingham. Husband of Maria Wright, of 60, Citadel Street, Old Radford, Nottingham. He was a Master Window Cleaner prior to enlisting 8th December 1915 at Nottingham. He went to France 2nd May 1917 and was posted to the 12th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. On the 7th October he was posted to the 17th 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and joined them on the 6th November 1917. He was killed in action, 11th November 1917, aged 37, whilst in the line at Tower Hamlets, near Polygon Wood, Belgium.
